In the home of Slifer and Catilena, in apartment 28, Catilena laid on her couch, which was somewhat circular, and Slifer sat down by her head, reading a book.
"If you're so tired, you should go sleep." He said, turning a page. Catilena ignored him and stretched, stroking his leg gently with her arms.
"Leave me alone, you know how dangerous it is for me to mess with my sleeping pattern. Besides, I`m more bored than tired." She said. Slifer chuckled and laid a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it slightly.
"Well, I could give our friends a call. Kira and Sera should be home now. Course, I am curious about our new neighbor, that Magician and his girl. Sera told me Kira put them a few doors down from us. What do you say?" He asked, looking down at her.
"Meh, do what you want." She said, turning over. Slifer chuckled and read on.

A couple of doors down, the blonde was sitting on the ktichen coutner, swinging her legs gently as Chaos washed up.
"I like the people we've met so far," she smiled.
"They certainly are nice folk. What did you want to drink again?"
"Yes, they are nice folk," she giggled at his words. "Oh, a milkshake please."
"Chocolate then," Chaos gathered together thethings he needed. "It's nice to see you getting on with girls instead of shying away from them."
Ashely smiled. "It's a nice change yeah. Thanks!" She took the milkshake from her Mage and sipped it.
"What did you want to do my dear?" Chaos stretched and leant against the counter by her side. "Puzzles or something?"
The blonde shook her head, put her half full glass down, unclipped her hair and and twisted it back up. "Nah, that's more an evening thing. I'd like to see Kitty again I think."
"We don't know where she lives, but... Kira would know wouldn't she?" He watched the blonde nod, finish her drink and hop down. "Would you like me to give her a call, see if she does? Then we could go visit."
"Pretty please!" The blonde half-bounced off to brush her teeth again.
"Strange girl," Chaos muttered, picking up the phone.

Kira was laying on her couch with Sera rubbing her back when the phone rang. Kira groaned in a somewhat annoyed tone as she started to get up, only to have her dragon push her back down.
"I`ll get it, you stay." She said, floating toward the phone. She picked it up in her claws and turned on the speaker.
"Dragon Caves, this is Serpent Night Dragon, the guardian of the landlord, how may I help you today?" She said, putting on a professional tone.

Chaos chuckled slightly. "Very professional there Sera. This is Chaos, Ashely's Guardian. How are you and yours' doing today?"
Ashely padded back into the ktichen and began washing up the things Chaos has used for her milkshake. The Mage watched her as he cradled the phone against his ear, listening.

Sera yelped as she was taken by surprise.
"Oh I`m sorry Chaos, uh, yes, thank you, ehem. Uh..." She stammered while Kira cackled on the couch.
"She doesn't like seeing her friends see her professionalism! Don't worry about it!" She shouted. Sera gathered herself and snorted.
"Yes, well, anyway. We are not bad. Kira threw out her back earlier today trying to carry something up to Totoro's apartment, thanks again for helping with that eviction." She said happily.

Chaos winced slightly, having put the phone on loudspeaker. "I'm sorry to hear about the back pain. Shell does that a lot sometimes too, but she's clumsy so what can you do?"
"I've got some heat pads somewhere if she wants one..." Shelly called from inside the larder.
He chuckled. "You're welcome, regarding the evicition. It's the very least I could do. Let me know if either of you need to move stuff again though, can't have either of you hurting yourselves."

Sera chuckled at Chaos' comment about the futility of trying to stop your bonded from hurting themselves. She made out Ashely's comment about the pads and looked to Kira.
"Actually, I think that would be great. The one's we have are more designed for dragons and would fry her on contact if we tried to use them on her. Thank you. And thanks for the offer Chaos, I might actually consider it. I sometimes have Slifer come over here to help us move stuff, but he is only around half the time we need him." She said thoughtfully. Kira lifted her head up and looked at Sera.
"If you guys wanna stop by for dinner, Sera's making her specialty, dragon-fried chicken! It is the best, and since I`m crippled, you have a slim chance of actually getting some!" She yelled, making Sera laugh.

"Oh of course, feel free to ask anytime."
Shelly heard Kira's yell and laughed, heading off to find a few of the pads.
Chaos blinked. "Dragon fried chicken? That sounds... Interesting at least..." He chuckled. "I'll ask the blonde once she's done making a mess looking for the heat pads in the bathroom. I actually had a reason for calling, I think..." He paused. "Oh yes. Did you happen to have Kitty and Slifer's address by any chance? I think Shell wants to go visiting at some point. And, y'know, it'd be handy to have in an emergency."

Sera chuckled at Ashely's comment and laughed at Chaos' hesitance.
"Trust me, it's a lot better than it sounds. It's only called 'Dragon' fried chicken because it is fried by dragonfire. MY dragonfire. I also add a pinch of secretspice and, in Kira's opinion, it is to die for." She happily said. When Chaos mentioned Slifer's address, she chuckled.
"Kitty and Slifer live just a few doors down from you in apartment 28. We figured you guys would wanna keep an eye on each other so we made sure you lived closeby." She said. Kira piped up when she heard this.
"I should warn you, Slifer has night-terrors once a week and wakes up roaring bloody murder anytime between 2:00 and 5:00 in the morning!" She yelled.

Ashely wandered back in, carrying a couple of heat pads, and tilted her head. Chaos looked at her, tiolted his head in the opposite direction and raised an eyebrow. She blinked and nodded. Chaos turned back to the phone, noting fown the apartment number on the telephone pad.
"Sure, Dragon Fried Chicken sounds good. We can bring the heat pads over too. As for the night terrors, I'm sure the small one-"
"Oi, I'm not that short!"
He chuckled. "I'm sure the small one will sleep right through them unless she's having nightmares herself. Thanks for the heads-up though."

Sera giggled at the exchange and cleared her throat.
"Heh, she would have to be dead to sleep THAT soundly. I've had to work a little magic to get a soundproofing spell on some of the homes of the more important people, the people who can shut down Morta, but I don't have the energy or will to soundproof the entire complex, and our other magician friend is no where to be found so he can't help..." She complained. Kira lifted her head up again.
"I'd be willing to pay quite a salary if you wanna join our staff as our magic-maintenance guy! Our little operation here uses a lot of magic and Sera's pathetic dragon magic can't cope! I`ll pay you the equivalent of £17 an hour!" She shouted at the phone. Sera said nothing as she awaited the response.

Chaos blinked. "Hey, that sounds pretty good. Sure, I'm always up for helping out. I may need a little training though..."
Ashely sat on the counter again and stretched. "When did they want us over for food?"

Kira cheered in the background while Sera gave a sigh of relief.
"Thank you. I`ll show you what needs to be done later. If you feel like you need some practice, perhaps you should take a refresher course at the academy. They are only £2 to take, and each course lasts only a week, but it is well worth it." She said, offering ideas. When she heard Ashely's question, she put a claw to her chin.
"Hmm, well, I`ll get started on them around 6:30 tonight, and they`ll need some time to cool off, anytime between 6:45 and 7:15 tonight, what do you think Kira?" She asked, looking over to the couch. Kira gave a lazy thumbs up as she laid facedown on the couch. Sera chuckled and turned her attention back to the phone.
"Around those times would be nice." She said happily.

Chaos looked at the blonde who nodded. "Those times sound great. And thanks for the tip on the course; I'll check it out."
"Maybe there'll be a course there for me to take too; it'll give me something to do," Ashely was looking through the fridge for some orange juice.

Sera contemplated Ashely's thought.
"Well, they do have special classes for humans to learn simple magic like telepathy and shielding spells. The shielding spells aren't really for a bonded's protection but an un-bonded's. Morta is kind of on the ropes with the mainland. Unless some other country takes pity on us, we're at the mercy of the people of New York, and that's only because we agreed to letting them study our ways and techniques." She said dejectedly, shaking her head.
"But, no matter. Kitty and Slifer will find a way. Anyway, I hope you do like it Chaos. Slifer is one of the people who teach the refresher courses, and I think next week will be his turn in the rotation." She said hopefully.
