Kitty sat in between the Pillars of Slifer and meditated, waiting for the right moment. She was completely immobile, her mind a blank haze. Her guardian Slifer, in his human form, approached her and sat in front of her. Her left eye twitched, and she spoke.

"You ready? Once we make the announcement, we can`t leave till the last person is served." She said, not opening her eyes. Slifer nodded and transformed into his dragon form, curling around the pillars.

"ATTENTION CITIZENS OF MORTA!" He shouted.

"We shall be holding a power-match tournament very soon! There is only 2 weeks left until we close applications, so if you wish to join, please tell us so NOW!" He called. He stayed wrapped around the pillars, braced for the crowd that was destined to gather.

Yuki Nagato stood up after hearing that annoying announcement and thought to herself.

This will be the time to prove to the rest of the world that I am capable of changing. No more will I be pushed around by others nor will I have to endure this sadness anymore. With Bley by my side the world will know a new era will begin and Nagato Yuki will become the leader of this brave new world. She looked around and saw people cheering and cheering as she stood before them smiling as the Mayor of handed her the silver trophy, symbolizing that she won the grand prize of the tournerment. yuki looked around her and laughed as the second and third placers had some tears in her eyes because they had lost.

Suddenly, she began to shake, a shaking like a massive earthquake the world seemed to change, red and black filled the sky and Bley suddenly appeared 100 times her normal size, Bley was furious and out of control, Bley seemed to be charging her most powerful attack though it was black colored and not the energy/light colored it normally was and the target was Yuki herself.

Has Bley gone mad? Yuki thought as she braced for the attack. As Bley fired Yuki felt a tug on her shoulder, the tug from her shoulder brought her back to reality, she had been dreaming. With her in a cold sweat Bley, in her human form asked her if she was alright. Bley stood there next to her with silver hair and white skinned. But with the same gaze that perplexed Yuki all the time, always looking lonely and sad; a gaze that would make anyone try to reach out to her but alas she repelled everyone that tries to go into her heart.

Yuki remembered her dream and was still trembling with fear.

What was that? She thought to herself. One of her greatest fears before she had met Bley was that if anyone ever truly relied on her would she be able to stand by them at all time or would she get in the way. That thought always made her believe that she was weak and fragile.

If at some point I am not able stand beside Bley.......what will happen.....? Will she turn her rage against everyone, including me or just me for not being there for her, or just me for being a bother........

An announcent sounded throughout the city, breaking Yuki out of her thoughts. Yuki looked up and it said something about registering to some tournerment.

"I think it might be fun. We should join." Bley said quietly to her human. Yuki, still remembering her nightmare, just nodded her head and agreed thinking to herself

I pray to Ra that nothing bad happens in this tournement; especially to Bley, who I swore to protect on that fateful day when I first met her and whispered the words........trust me.

Yuki stood up and walked around the city before deciding where to go. She thought it would be wise to practice, but had no idea where to begin, so she approached the large pillars, hoping to ask a few questions.

Ashely jumped as Slifer's voice boomed across town. "Well Chaos? You definitely want to do this?"

The Mage tossed his hair over his shoulder and patted her head. "Of course I do." His toned quietened. "Do you?"

"Well, it's safe enough, and it seems like a good idea. So sure," she smiled.

"Alrighty then!" Chaos took the blonde's hand in order to prevent her from getting seperated from him. Silly thing gets lost far too easily, he thought, smiling a little as she gripped his hand and had to almost run to keep up with him.

"Slow down will you? My legs are shorter than yours!"

He slowed down and weaved through the people, Shelly close by his side, until they got to where Slifer and Kitty were. A small crowd had formed, naturally creating a sort of semi circle around the area near the Egyptian God. Chaos edged through until both he and his Human were on the inner edge.

They both stood, watching their friends, waiting for more announcements.

While Kitty continued to meditate Slifer looked toward the gathering crowd, spotting the black-haired girl in the distance. He tilted his head slightly, not recognising her but her guardian, the blue eyes white dragon by her.

"The white dragon is entering, this could be fun." He said. Kitty smiled slightly, but Slifer could feel her beaming inside. As he continued to look around, he spotted Chaos and Ashely at the front.

"Hey, you guys made it! Great. So, I take it you are enjoying the city? Are you entering our little tournament here?" He asked politely, edging his head closer to his friends.

Ashely bounced on her feet slightly as the Egyptian God edged closer. "I love it here so far, and these power matches sound like a fantastic way to release all the pent up energy that you Guardians must get."

Chaos rolled his eyes playfully at his Human's gentle bouncing. "It's nice here yes, I like it. It's peaceful too."

"I think the tournie's," Chaos raised an eyebrow at her casualness "safe enough, so sure, why shouldn't we enter? It could be fun!" she beamed. "Not expecting to win at all though."

"It would be a chance for me to practice my spells. My non-dark ones anyway."

Slifer tilted his head as he realized the girl was not bothered by his dragon form this time. He smiled at her casualness.

"I see you are getting used to me, good. And yes, it is a fantastic way of unleashing our energy." he turned his attention back to Chaos.

"I am so glad you like it. And I assure you, the tournament is perfectly safe. We have so many interesting people here. Don't be afraid to unleash your full might, who knows, you might be strong enough to beat me, hahaha!" He joked.

Shelly giggled slightly, nodding and agreeing with Slifer when he said that she was getting used to him. "Chaos is strong-"

"Yes I am."

"But," she gave the Mage a look for interrupting her. "But I don't think he's that strong!"

Chaos feigned hurt. "Oh, thanks!"

The blonde hugged her Guardian. "We'll see if you two get to face each other in the tournie." She tilted her head. "That's if you're entering Slifer?"

Slifer smiled and nodded.

"Yep, I`m your prize, persay. If you make it past the final two, you get to fight me. That way, Kitty and I can help judge. And you never know hun, I haven't really fought anyone aside from Sera, so, yeah, hehe." He said sheepishly. Kitty opened her eyes and walked over to them, interested in the conversation.

"Hello again, we really didn't get a chance to meet last time, but I see Slifer's grown on you." She said happily.

Chaos grinned slightly. "I might see you then, then!"

Shelly smiled and bounced a little again as Kitty approached. "Heya!" She beamed. "Yes he has," she hesitated very slightly before patting the Dragon very carefully. "I think he just startled me before. We're talking about the tournie. I think it'll be fun. Definitely different."

"And we can meet more residents," Chaos added, nodding politely to Kitty.

Slifer smiled and shifted his head just a little bit closer to Ashely, hoping it would tell her the action was permitted and welcomed. Catilena looked at the sight warmly, not recalling a time when anyone but her even considered touching her dragon, let alone actually doing it.

"I see, well, we're hoping it will be. We've never done anything like this. Not on such a large scale." She said, feeling slightly nervous. When Chaos added his bit, her smiled returned.

"Definately, and I think you'll like some of them, somewhere around here, my friend and her mage are roaming about, but she's very shy, so I don't know where they are exactly." She said, looking around real quick.

"but at any rate, I hope you enjoy it." She said happily.

Shelly smiled more and petted the huge Dragon happily.

Chaos smiled warmly as he noticed this. "I think it'll all go swimingly," he grinned at Kitty. "After all, who would dare break the rules if yourself and Slifer are in charge?" He smiled reassuringly and spoke in a gentler tone. "And hey, at least if it doesn't work out, at least you tried."

"It'll work out," Shelly said, still petting Slifer in an oddly relaxed manner for someone so small standing next to something so big. "I'm really looking forward to it."

Slifer made a low, purr-like sound as he tuned out the conversation. Kitty yawned a little and nooded at Chaos.

"True. One of the advantages of having Slifer as a Guardian is that people seem to think he is some kind of bad-ass. They think that he'll throw them in the shadow realm if they breathe wrong. I wonder how'd they react if they saw your girlfriend there petting him like he was some kind of puppy, hahaha." She said, slapping the great neck affectionately. She smiled at Ashely.

"I am too. And at the end of the day, things will be ok. They always are." She beamed.

Dark and Mutt were just walking down a street, not more than 100 feet from the ship that they had arrived in Morta on when a booming voice echoed across the city.

"ATTENTION CITIZENS OF MORTA!" it shouted.

"We shall be holding a power-match tournament very soon! There is only 2 weeks left until we close applications, so if you wish to join, please tell us so NOW!"

The two looked at each other as the announcement faded away. "Power match, eh?" Mutt mused aloud. "Wonder what that is."

"Yeah, same here. Sounds interesting at least," Dark answered. The two waited on the side of the road, literally having no direction as to where to go. They both had a duffel bag filled with a few basics such as clothes, and between the two of them they also had a small sum of cash. Enough to 1) hopefully find them a place to stay and 2) hopefully get them situated until they found jobs. Unfortunately it was doubtful it would really spread much farther than that. They really hadn't been able to save up much prior to their trip. They had only just stepped off the ship that had brought them in, and past that had no plans. They were basically winging it, and hoping that they'd be able to settle in to society here.

"Alright, come on then," Mutt said, jumping up, and turning back to Dark. He was rather tall in his regular form, Dark only reaching about chest height. Though Mutt did have a human form, he usually managed without it since he wasn't as large as some monsters.

"We got nowhere in particular to head to," he continued, "so why don't we go see what that announcement was about?" he asked, cocking his thumb over his shoulder in the direction the voice had come from."We'll at least run into someone, surely, and can ask what we should be doing as new citizens. Besides," he said with a toothy grin, "whatever this 'power match' is, it sounds fun."

Dark chuckled at Mutt's transparent enthusiasm. He was always bounding with energy, and if a power match was anything like he might have guessed - some kind of fight between duel monsters - he was sure Mutt would love it.

"Sounds like a plan," Dark said, also getting up. "So, you with the dog ears," he said, clapping his Guardian on the back, "lead the way to this place." Not that it would have been hard to find the place with how loud the announcer had been, but it was the quip that was more important.

"Yeah, alright, ya deaf human," his Guardian responded with a laugh, and led the way.

They weaved their way through crowds of humans and duel monsters until they came to an open area. Dark stopped mid-step when he saw the enormous dragon curled around some pillars. "Holy hell, that's Slifer, the Sky Dragon right?" he asked of Mutt as the two got to the side of the road again. "One of the founders of this city, yeah...?" he muttered.

It was Mutt's turn to clap Dark on the back. "That does indeed look like a Sky Dragon. What tipped you off?" he asked. He smirked as he saw one girl accompanied by a Magician of Black Chaos petting him, as well as another girl. "And Catilena Meora, I believe, his partner," he said, nodding in their direction. "The founders of Morta," he chuckled. "Surprising that they'd be handling a tournament's registration, but I think if anyone would be good to talk to about how to get settled in here, it would be them, don't ya think? So get to it."

He gave his human another clap on the back, a bit harder this time, meant to get him moving. Dark went forward a step and did a funny turn and backstep, giving Mutt a disgruntled glance during it, before turning the rest of the way and continuing moving forward without breaking momentum. Mutt grinned and followed him.

Ashely giggled at the gentle noise coming from the huge Dragon and kept petting him.

Chaos smiled at this and played with her ponytail, talking to Kitty. "I'm perfectly sure that everythign will be just fine," he grinned. "I would like to meet the fool that dares to break rules though; who would with you and Slifer as judges?"

"I'm looking forward to it," Shelly smiled, learning forward and placing a peck on the Sky Dragon's scales before leaning against Chaos. She looked around and noticed two figures approaching, watching them a bit, her head tilted util they got closer. "Oh!"

"Hmn?" Chaos looked down to her then followed her eyeline. He tightened his grip on her shoulders, having put his arm around her. "Now now blondie. He's not a giant puppy..."

Yuki was curious about the group and she walked over, approaching Ashley.

"Good day to you..... might you be participating in the tournament as well?" She said, Bley coming toward the group as well.

"Me and Bley are Partners in this battle; winning isnt everything for us.....though through this tournament we will begin to unravel our destiny." Yuki smiled and extended her hand to shake Ashley's.
