Kitty laughed and nodded at the mage's question.

"True, like I said, people think Slifer is a bad-ass who is looking for a reason to eat people, hahaha. I hope you guys have fun." She said, smiling warmly. Seeing Ashely and Chaos tense up, she followed their gaze to the pair walking toward them. Kitty cleared her throat and patted Slifer's neck. Slifer was broken out of the trance Ashely had induced on him and he looked at the newcomers. There were two young teens approaching them and what looked like two guardians following. The first was a creature Slifer instantly recognised, even in human form, the Blue Eyes White Dragon. The second, it took awhile for Slifer to recognise, was the creature known as Lycanthrope. He also cleared his throat and looked at the group.

"Hello there. I assume you guys are entering the tournament as well?" He asked politely, setting one of his claws down by Ashely to warn to the Lycan not to try anything with her.

Ashely looked up and at Yuki. She smiled and shook the other girls' hand as she extended it.

"Hello. Yeah, I'm entering this tournement too. I think it'll be fun."

Chaos nodded politely to the new Dragon and the girl, whilest still keeping an eye on the other two.

"Remember Shell, the Lycan isn't a giant puppy. Slifer may act like one but the Lycan isn't..."

Dark and Mutt stopped a short distance from the group. Mutt's ears pinned back, getting a frosty vibe from those assembled, and he stayed a bit forward of Dark in case there was a problem.

Dark poked the lycan in his side reproachfully, and walked past him a bit. He didn't want to start off what hopefully would prove to be a constructive conversation with a hostile standoff.

"Um, maybe," he said, answering the dragon's question. "To be honest, we're uh, kinda new here... we pretty much just got off the boat here, and uh, didn't really have anywhere to go so... we figured we'd check out this tournament," he finished with a small chuckle.

A small concerned growl was emanating from Mutt - probably without him even realizing it - and Dark elbowed him in the side gently, before wrapping an arm over his shoulders and pulling his head down. "And also, my name's Theus Darkren, or you can call me Dark, and this funny little guy is Mutt," he said, nodding his head towards the Guardian caught in something of a headlock. Mutt didn't do anything to get out of it, and just tried to keep an eye on the Guardians around them. "Calm down," Dark said to him quietly, before releasing him.

Without moving, Slifer concentrated his gaze even further on Dark and Mutt.

"And I am Slifer, one of the Egyptian Gods." He said in a deep baritone voice. Catilena laughed and slapped the dragon's neck.

"And you are also a big puppy. Don't be such a buzzkill. Hi there, I am Catilena, I`m Slifer's human and co-founder of this city. I take it you wish to join our tournament? Your wolfy over there seems kinda anxious." She said, relaxing a little.

Chaos relaxed when he saw the control the Human had over the Lycan and released his grip on his Human's shoulders.

Shelly meanwhile had her head tilted slightly in curiousity; not really afraid but making herself wary to prevent herself from going over and petting the Lycan. "He doesn't look so bad..." she said quietly to her Mage.

The Mage chuckled. "Not every canine is a giant puppy blondie... They won't all want to be petted..."

Ashely mock scowled at him before taking a step forward and extending her hand to Dark. "I'm Ashely Sketcher, though most call me Shelly, or Shell. It's nice to meet you, welcome to Morta." She smiled. "Don't mind the grump over there, that's just Chaos, my over-protective Guardian. He's fine really."

Mutt's ears perked at the term 'Wolfy,' and he whined a little. "Hey, be nice..." he said, fighting a smile.

Dark smirked. "Don't listen to him, he likes it when people call him names like that. That's how he got stuck with Mutt," he said, giving the wolf a small push on the shoulder.

He shook Shelly's hand as she offered it, and gave her a friendly smile. "It's very nice to meet you," he said, "and trust me, I understand over-protective Guardians," he said, looking towards Mutt challenging him to deny it.

"Hey, you're more fragile than I am, so deal with it," Mutt said in response, laughing and turned toward Catilena, though he still retained a little distance from the dragon. " And a tournament sounds like it would be rather fun. I think I would be very willing to enter but uh, what exactly is this tournament?" he asked.

Catilena laughed at their conversation and nodded, putting a hand on Slifer.

"I know how to turn you human dear, so either you calm down and relax or I do it for you." She scolded silently. Slifer reluctantly lowered his head onto the claw he had next to Ashely and pouted, though only Catilena could see that. At Dark's question, Catilena's head tilted.

"Well, it's a power-match tournament, which is basically a duel, only it doesn't involve cards and our creatures share the control of their actions with their partners." She explained.

Chaos sense the 'poutyness' in the air around Slifer, although he didn't actually see the great dragon pouting. He chuckled and went back to watching the conversation, taking in the little movements made by Dark and Mutt, finding them both intriging. They seem like an interesting duo...

Ashely smiled a little at Slifer before stepping forward again, extending her hand to Mutt. "Nice to meet you Mutt."

Dark and Mutt exchanged glances at the explanation of power matches. "That sounds pretty awesome," Mutt said with a grin. "We're definitely in," he said, and Dark put a hand to his face.

"You might want to ask for a few more details, brainiac," he said, shaking his head. "But it does sound fun. I assume it's more or less safe, right?" he asked of Catilena.

Mutt meanwhile took Ashely's hand, and dropped to one knee like some chivalrous knight of medieval times. "A pleasure to meet you, m'lady," he said with a bowed head.

Dark rolled his eyes and muttered, "You moron..." under his breath, which Mutt smiled wider at.

Ashely giggled and went a little pink. Chaos laughed.

"You may stand, good sir," Ashely said quietly, patting the top of Mutt's head with her free hand.

Chaos moved and sat on the floor near Slifer, grinning at the Dragon.

Mutt grinned wider and rose to his feet. "You shouldn't encourage him," Dark said sarcastically. "The socially confused dog is strange enough already."

"You're just jealous. Not my fault you don't know how to act properly in public," Mutt said back teasingly, without hesitation.

Dark sighed and shook his head, fighting a laugh. "At any rate, so how long have you two been here in Morta?" he asked, indicating Ashely and Chaos.

Shelly giggled slightly and patted Mutt's ears before turning to Dark.

"Not that long actually, about a week or so?"

Chaos nodded. "I'm not really sure, but that sounds about right."

"Well, I'm sure it was longer than us," Dark said with a laugh. "This has been our first stop since we got to Morta." He indicated the packs that he and Mutt both carried.

"Speaking of..." Mutt cut in. "We probably should try and get ourselves situated at some point. Jobs and somewhere to stay. Any clue who we could see about that when we get a chance?" he asked. "Not right this moment of course, but we'll need to at some point, I'm sure."

Cat and Slifer stayed silent throughout the exchange until Mutt mentioned a living space. Cat and Slifer looked at each other and smiled. Slifer turned to them and cleared his throat, just as Kira and Sera came by.

"That would be us. I`m the Serpent Night Dragon, my friends call me Sera, and this is my partner Kira. We are the landlords of the housing district "Dragon Caves" so if you'll answer a few questions, we'll get you settled." Sera announced happily. Kira nodded and smiled as Cat and Slifer looked on.

Ashely had moved back to Chaos' side, he'd stood up again by now, and leant against him. He put his arm around her waist, holding her close. They both watched as Kira and Sera appeared, both nodding to them in greeting. Chaos stood and looked around them, as Ashely listened to the conversation taking place in front of them.
