Dark and Mutt's attention turned to the new Guarded pair. "Well, what timing," Mutt remarked, and tipped his head to them. "Pleasure to meet you both. I'm Mutt."

"And you can call me Dark," Dark said in greeting. "And that would be great if we could get a place to stay in the Dragon Caves. What do you need to know?" he asked.

Kira patted Sera affectionately as she mounted the dragon backwards, leaning against her back as she took out a clipboard. Sera then turned to face Slifer and everyone while Kira faced her newest tenants.

"It's good to see you all again. This is going to be fun!" Sera said to Slifer and the others. Meanwhile, Kira cleared her throat and turned her attention to Dark and Mutt.

"Ok, first off, apartment or house? Ground level, below ground, or above ground? How big do you want it to be? Big enough to support dragon-guests?" She asked purfunctorily.

Mutt gave Dark a quizzical look and Dark started off. "Um, apartment should probably be fine. Above ground, I think," looking to Mutt for confirmation. "I don't know if it really needs to be too large or if we'll be expecting a lot of dragon guests."

"Can't most of the dragons around here shapeshift most likely?" Mutt asked. "We could probably manage with a smaller one, I would think..." he trailed off. "Being fairly new though, I'm not sure. If you'd recommend one over the other, we could go for that, yeah?" he asked of Dark, who nodded.

Shelly moved away from Chaos and went to pet Sera gently, hesitating a little in case it wasn't wanted. "I'm looking forward to it too! I don't remember ever being this excited for a tournement before.

Chaos nodded. "She hasn't been this excited before really. I think it might be because she's excited to actually see all the Guardians do their thing" He smiled a little.

Kira wrote stuff down on her clipboard as Dark talked. When they hesitated on the size, Kira thought to elaborate.

"Well, you see, it is true all of our large citizens are able to shapeshift. However, some of them prefer to stay in dragon form in new places. Our dragon-accomodating apartments aren't large really, they have an expansion spell on them to accomodate large guests. The dragon-friendly apartments look no different from the others." She explained, hoping to help them. She patted her relatively small dragon, who was only about as long as a tall man and as thick as that same man's head. Sera chuffed at Ashely's hand and leaned her head into it before responding to Chaos.

"Some of them should be coming soon. I know Uraby is entering solo, as well as a few others. it's not because their humans are scared, it's just that they are scared for their humans, though they won't admit it. In my opinion, as long as you know what you are doing, I think having your human with you as you fight is a marvelous thing. Though I`m hoping Slifer will not amount to his usual "method" of keeping Kitty safe." She said, glancing at Slifer. Slifer huffed and turned his head away while Catilena chuckled uneasily.

Dark and Mutt listened to the explanation of the apartments, and Dark nodded. "Alright then, I guess if it's no big difference we'll take one of the apartments suitable for dragons."

Mutt nodded in affirmation with a smile, but that darkened when he heard what Sera was saying about the tournament. "Wait a sec," he said, stepping forward, "the humans get close to the action? Why?" he asked, and looked worriedly back at Dark.

"Oh calm down," Dark responded. "I'm sure it's safe, for all participants right? Mutt may be concerned for me," he said, then turned to his Guardian, "but I'm not letting you participate either if you're gonna get messed up."

Mutt scowled a bit and crossed his arms, making a 'hmm,' sound, while he waited for the reply.

Shelly beamed and petted Sera some more, humming quietly.

Chaos listened to the dragon and nodded. "I think having your Human there provides more support I think. I always feel stronger when Shell's around. Although I do make sure she stays away from anything that can hurt her. I'd never forgive myself if she did."

Shelly nodded, still petting Sera. "Slifer? How do you protect Kitty? I'm really curious."

Kira chuckled appreciatively at the concern from the guardians.

"It's perfectly safe. And of course the humans get close to the action, but they are no closer than they would be in a duel. They are there to provide advice and moral support. Sera always flies just a little bit higher when she and Slifer go at it, but otherwise I am as much a factor of the fight as she is. And Mutt will be fine, we have judges to keep things civil, they always stop when one can't continue." Kira replied. Sera nodded in agreement. When Chaos asked Slifer how he protected Kitty, both Kira and Sera burst out laughing while Kitty turned red and Slifer an even darker shade of red.

"Yeah Slifer, how do you protect Kitty?" Sera teased.

"Oh don't worry Sera, Slifer always gives her room to breathe." Kira added. At this, they both roared even harder and Slifer gave them a death-glare and a growl that sounded dangerous. Catilena cleared her throat and turned to Chaos.

"Well, uh, he..." She began uneasily.

"HE EATS HER!" Kira and Sera called, bursting out in laughter. Catilena's left eye twitched and she sighed. Slifer sheepishly scratched his chin with his claw.

"Well, I wouldn't call it "eating" persay..." He said.

"Sure you do, you "inhale" her! Ahahaha!" Sera whooped. Slifer sighed and looked at Chaos and Ashely.

"All I do is breathe normally while she climbs into my windpipe. She sits in my lungs, which are completely dry and everything, while I fight so that she doesn't worry and more importantly, doesn't get hurt. I admit, it's a bit extreme, but it keeps her safe from any backlash during the fight." He admitted, hoping his explaination wasn't too gross.

Shelly giggled at the girls' first explaination and blushed ever so slightly. When Slifer explain properly she listened and nodded. "Well, if that's not a safe place to be then I can't think of anywhere that would be."

Chaos had blushed, listened to Slifer and blinked rapidly as he took it in. "And that's not uncomfortable to you?"

Dark and Mutt looked at each other again after hearing the explanation of the duels. "Alright, I guess," Mutt said quietly. "Still a stray shot or something. They ought to have somewhat better protection..."

"Think you wouldn't be able to protect me?" Dark asked challengingly, knowing he'd get the Guardian with that.

"Ah, whatever. Yes, I'd be able to protect you, so no, there's no problem," he replied confidently.

After that the two listened to the explanation of Slifer's 'protection' for Cat. Big grins started spreading across their faces. Mutt was the first to burst out laughing. He folded his arms over his gut and doubled over, laughing at the top of his lungs. "So..." he breathed between gasps for air, "you..." he continued before Dark gave him a smack over the head.

"Shut up, you moron, don't be a jackass," he said, trying to stifle his own laughter, and having a bit more success than his partner.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," Mutt said, still with a smile on his face. "But uh, that doesn't seem like it would be the best vantage point for the fight, would it? How do you give advice if you're... well, there?" he asked.

Hearing everyone's laughter, Slifer couldn't help but grin himself.

"I have to admit, not the reaction I normally get when I tell people my, er, "method." When Kira first found out about it, she got to taste her lunch all over again." He said, remembering that event with a shudder. Catilena smiled and patted her dragon sympathetically.

"Actually, it is pretty comfortable. Slifer's Alveoli keep me stationary and I keep in touch with Slifer through telepathy, I see everything he sees and tell him what to do from there. He doesn't lung me everytime we have a power-match, since most of the time he only fights Sera and they both fly high, but he does it enough that it's almost expected, heh." She said, Sera and Kira still giggling.

In the midst of their chatter, a Uraby appeared. He leaped onto Slifer and ran along his back until he reached his head, carrying a peice of paper in his claws.

"Here are all the entries I have gathered from the citizens for the past week. It's gonna be a big one pal. Hello Catilena, Kira, Sera, I am glad to see you guys are all active. This is going to be big, very big. I`ll probably be knocked out in the first round, I mean, I still can't get that transformation spell right, and I know you saw me go airborne the other day Slifer. I only ask one thing Kitty, be kind with who you put me up against, I'd really hate to go against Sera or the Dark Magician. Whoever you pit me against first, please make sure they are merciful. Well, see ya." He was about to leave when he noticed the group surrounding the giant, red dragon. He smiled sheepishly and bowed to everyone.

"Hello to you all, I hope you are enjoying the city and I hope you have fun in the tournament, I might be a judge after I`m knocked out, but I`ll have to ask Slifer or Kitty when the time comes. Later." The dino said as he laid the paper in the crook of Slifer's upper mouth. When he felt he had accomplished his task, he leapt off of Slifer's head and over the crowd and ran deep into the city, not giving any hint of where he might be going.

Shelly listened to Cat's explaination. "Does that tickle at all?"

Chaos chuckled. "Very inquisative, aren't you?"

She shot him a look. "I can't help it!"

Before Slifer could answer, the Uraby bounced in, said his bit and left, leaving Shelly feeling a little dizzy at how fast he arrived and how quickly he'd left.

"Umm... Okay..."

Dark and Mutt both watched the hyper Uraby ramble on before taking off and Dark laughed a little at the sight.

Mutt, however, got closer to Slifer and clasped his hands behind his head. "So, who's all participating in the tournament so far? And about how many are there?" he asked curiously. He was getting a little psyched up for a fun match, even if he was still a little concerned for Dark to be there.

Catilena shook her head slowly at Ashely's question.

"Not really, no. It's a little slimey, but it doesn't tickle." She explained. She paid no mind to the hyper Uraby, as if it were a regular occurance, and Slifer handed her the paper he was given before turning to Mutt.

"Well, I`m not really at liberty to give you that information. We do have quite a few participants but I really shouldn't say who they are. As for how many, I can't be certain because there is still some time left for others to join in." He told him, smirking a little.
