In the City of Morta, two people can be seen walking. As they walk, they pass many people, some with duel-monsters, who call themselves guardians. In the City of Morta, Duel-Monsters and Humans live side-by-side in a normal fashion. Some think it's scary, seeing large dragons flying in the sky, creatures popping up from the shadows, spellcasters using their magic to manipluate the elements, for these reasons, most people say the monsters should stay in their cards, only to appear when summoned in duels. But for those who live there, Morta is a normal place. The creatures do not frighten them, no, they rarely ever even suprise them. To them, life IS a duel, and all that live ARE creatures, even though some of them can't do the fantastic things that the guardians can. The residents of Morta say that their city is only the beginning, that soon, more people will realise the true value of the duel-monsters as they have. Until then, they are content within the borders of their fine city, founded by a girl and her ultimate Guardian to escape the disapproving gaze of those who cannot understand. With this is mind, the young, brown-haired girl walked to the Quarter, where duel-monsters usually appear to become Guardians. She and her companion, a young man with crimson-red hair and pupil-less yellow eyes, walk toward a pillar that reaches high towards the sky, as if reaching out to the heavens. Upon reaching her destination in front of the pillar, the girl turned toward the people and monsters who gathered in the quarter. Her companion had walked behind the pillar, out of sight, when she began her speech.
"Citizens of Morta, my newly found city! Please, lend me, Catilena Meora, your ear!" She said. At that point, the sky clouded with darkness at the top of the pillar. A deep roar was heard as a giant, red dragon descended from the sky and wrapped itself around the pillar. It lowered its huge, two-mouthed head to stay a few feet above Catilena's head. It's small, yet piercing yellow eyes, situated below a brilliant blue orb, gazed at the crowd.
"Please! Allow my human to speak!" The dragon said, speaking with the lower, larger of its two mouths.
"Thank you, Slifer. Everyone! Your being here right now shows us that you have faith in me and my Guardian, Slifer, the Sky Dragon!" Upon the mention of his name, Slifer tilted his head up and unleashed a mighty roar, while everyone else cheered or roared with him. Catilena smirked while she waited for everyone to quiet down. "Thank you! I am glad you have so much faith in us, for truth be told, I did not have much faith in the success of this plan. I was told I would not succeed, that Slifer and I would fall, and fall hard. You have shown them that they were wrong! As a reward, all of our neighboring cities have agreed with the making of this city! We will have trade! We will have tolerance! And most of all, we will have FREEDOM! No more will we suffer from those who do not appreciate our guardians! No more will our guardians have to hide! We can be free! We can rejoice! And so, as the founder of Morta, I declare this city fully open! As your founder, other cities see me as your leader, and I say nay!" Catilena shouted. To give her a break, Slifer continued for her, for his voice when in dragon form was naturally loud and thus, he had little need to shout.
"We shall work for our public to maintain trade with our neighboring cities, but other than that we shall function in our society as you do! And so, with our city official, please, let us enjoy our new life! TO MORTA!" Slifer called before roaring.
"TO MORTA!" Called the occupants of the Quarter. They all cheered while Catilena and Slifer looked at each other, happy to have succeeded in making a place where humans and monsters can be at peace.
