ok, so, I feel I have to clarify one of SS's main attractions, the power-match. A power-match is simply a battle between guardians. It is a lot more freestyle than a duel, and a lot more independant than a pokemon battle. People who have guardians CAN give advice and commands to their guardian, but for the most part, the guardian moves out of their own free will. Here's an example of a power-match:
Slifer the Sky Dragon Vs. Serpent Night Dragon
Slifer flew up high, daring his opponent to chase after him. He let out a mighty roar, taunting his foe.
Sera fell for his taunts, much to Kira's dismay, and chases after Slifer, unleashing her deadly "Shatter" attack when he roared. The light blue crystals sped toward their target, and some had made contact, while others appeared to go another way.
Some of the attack made their mark on Slifer, but he moved slighty to avoid the rest, opening his second mouth and sending out his deadly Thunder Bomb right toward the Serpent Night Dragon.
*I could make this a long match, but you have stuff to do, as do I, so I`ll cut it short*
Although she tried, Sera could not escape. The Thunder Bomb hit her point-blank and she fell to the earth, out of the will to continue. Slifer had reached down and caught her in his claws, letting her down gently near Kira. The official nearby declared Slifer the winner as Kira took ahold of her defeated dragon.
Winner: Slifer the Sky Dragon
As you can see, a power-match is pretty much determined by the participants, though in the upcoming tournaments, there will be a third person to determine the winners. All power-matches are watched over by an official, but who plays the official is determined by the powermatch. If it's a streetfight, the official is played by the one who declares the challenge, while the first move goes to the person BEING challenged. In a tournament, the official will be played by a third user, and the first move goes to the person who can correctly guess *or is closer to* the number the official thinks of between 1 and 10.
The rules:
No godmodding. You can say your opponent is helping your creature back to you buts that's it. Do not say "all of my attack hit you" or "all of my attack missed you." Notice how I stated "Some appeared to go another way" when the Serpent Night Dragon attacked. That gives your opponent the option of whether or not the attack makes full contact or not. Some attacks make full contact, some don't.
Play fair, you can't receive half-damage all the time. 1/3 of the attacks have to hit you. Likewise, the person launching the attack has to let 1/3 of their attack miss. The last third can be half-damage.
Don't mortally hurt someone. I know we are an adult RP, but let's not get too gorey. We won't stop at first blood if someone gets scratched, but don't tear off an arm. Any bad injuries, such as a broken bone, have to be approved by an Admin. If the match is between Admins, they have to agree on an injury. I can't have Slifer break Chaos' arm just because I want him too, I have to ask Kenny if it's ok first. Likewise, she can't say Slifer broke Chaos' arm unless she asks me if she can do that.
Don't attack the spectators. Morta is on thin ice with the Mainland, and if our creatures start attacking the people watching, whether it is an accident or not, or even if the target has a guardian or not, the city could be in trouble. Morta get's all of it's supplies from the State *mainly the city* of New York and if we cross the wrong line, they'll cut off our supplies.
The Official's word is law and final. Do not argue with them when you lose or get disqualified. Also, don't bribe. Please.
The match has to end SOMETIME, and not in a tie (unless I say you can). Be mature, you can't win everything. No match can go beyond 4 pages *unless the official makes up most of the posts*. If you have a truly epic fight going, run it by me so I know what you guys are doing.
Spellcasters. Yikes, ok, spellcasters are tricky creatures, because technically, they have magic beyond their standard attack. If your guardian is a spellcaster *Kenny* I`ll allow spells and curses and charms NOT mentioned in your character profile. You can surprise your opponent with a freezing spell or fire spell, or even a shape-shifting spell. Just be reasonable. No teleporting, no instant death, no maiming, no time/space-warping, no inter-dimensional spells, nothing that will cause irreversable damage to your opponent or the city, no demon/aid summoning, basically, nothing that isn`t temporary or challenges the laws of physics.
So, that's it. Just follow these rules when you fight a power-match and you`ll be ok. This is meant to be fun guys, so please, enjoy yourselves, safely.
See you in the tournament!
