Slifer continued to talk to Kitty until the girl finally fell asleep, lulled by the sound of her guardian's voice. The dragon smiled warmly at her as he reached out a short arm to her, brushing a lock of hair away from her face.
"Sleep well little one." He said, curling tighter around her as he went to sleep himself.

Shelly fell asleep before Chaos did and the spell caster stayed up to watch her for a little bit, stroking her hair and listening to her breathing.
"Yup," he muttered, having held his breath as Shelly seemed to stop breathing; but it was only for about a minute. When he could hear her breathing again, he exhaled. "Definitely going to be the death of me you are girl."
He leant forward and kissed the top of her head. "But, I wouldn't have you any other way, and I hope you know that... I know you worry a lot sometimes, you worry about improving yourself; you don't need to though..."
He watched as she shifted a little in her sleep, cuddling up to him a bit more. He pulled the duvet up to make sure she was covered up properly and settled down some more, wrapping his arms around her.
"No," he continued. "You don't need to change at all."

In the dark of night, the entire apartment was quiet as everyone slept soundly. 3 o'clock brought a deathly silence throughout the abode. In their room, Kira and Sera were snuggled up together in bed, Kira cuddling the relatively small dragon like a big teddy bear. While they and Ashely and Chaos slept peacefully, in the master bedroom inner turmoil took hold of an egyptian god. Tossing and turning his head, the almighty Slifer the Sky Dragon grumbled in his sleep, his eyes tightening shut. Groaning in her sleep, Catilena cracked an eye open and watched her guardian thrash about. She sat up and leaned over, putting a hand on his head as sweat peeped through the scaly hide.
"Slifer, Slifer wake up! It`ll be alright, wake up Slifer!" She begged the dragon. He continued to shake and move his head back and forth, his grumbling becoming louder and more coherent.
"No, no! Get away from her! GET AWAY!!! WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!" He screamed, his head shooting outwards, shattering the window. He panted heavily, looking around before pulling his head back in, gasping as soon as he saw Cat. The dragon immediately grabbed the girl in his claws and brought her to his eye, as if examining her. Catilena frowned sympathetically at him and leaned against his mouth, rubbing his large back fang.
"It's okay Slifer, it was just a dream, I`m alright." She said, continuing to murmur sweet nothings at him while the dragon tried to control his racing heart, which was loud enough to be heard throughout the house. The bedroom door slammed open and Slifer rounded on the intruders, only to find an unhappy Kira mounted on an equally displeased Serpent Night Dragon.
"Mother of Ra, what happened to Kitty tonight?" Kira asked as Sera peered around.
"Oh Ra, not the window AGAIN. I have to fix that now!" Sera complained, sighing. Slifer also sighed and lowered his head.
"I`m sorry. I`m trying to get over this." He mumbled. Sera floated over to Slifer and nuzzled his head while Kira patted him.

Shelly appeared in the doorway, looking sleepy but also very concerned. "Is everyone okay?"

Slifer turned to Ashely with a sheepish grin on his face.
"Yes, we're fine. I`m sorry I woke you up, just had one of my 'famous' night terrors, and broke a window in the process." He said, wincing slightly.

"That's okay," the blonde looked sympathetic and padded over, petting a part of the big red dragon that she could reach.

Slifer crooned at her touch and yawned, leaning down to let her reach more of him while Kitty hopped out of his claws, stretching like her namesake.
"I know you`ll always protect me Slifer, so stop worrying about if you can't." She said confidently while Sera and Kira nodded in agreement.
"Have more confidence in yourself, you're a freaking god for goodness sake!" Kira chirped with a smirk.

Shelly kept petting the 'big red puppy' and made a noise similar to a cat's purring. "They're right. You're a god. Hey, even if you weren't - the size of you should scare anyone."

Slifer chuckled as he lifted a claw to reach under Ashely's chin, tilting her head up to look at her.
"I appreciate that. Now then, I think you should go back to bed before Chaos wakes up and finds you missing." He said, retrieving his claw from under her chin and poking her in the stomach softly. Kitty turned to Sera and Kira and yawned loudly, walking backwards back into her bed.
"You two as well. Don't you open tomorrow Sera?" She asked, and the dragon squeaked, quickly turning tail and flying out of the door while Kira yelped and held on.

Shelly giggled and kissed the nearest bit of him she could reach. "Make sure you get some more sleep too..."
She smiled and padded back to the room she was sharing with Chaos.

Slifer nodded as he re-tucked Kitty into her bed, curling tighter around her both to keep her warm and to reassure himself that she was protected. Catilena yawned and began petting Slifer's side affectionately while the dragon crooned, adjusting himself so that his heart was right under her head. Kitty sighed contentedly as she let the soft, deep beat lull her to sleep. Slifer waited until she stopped petting him before he raised his head, tentatively sticking his tongue out and grazed her forehead with the tip in a sort of dragons kiss.
"Stay safe." He whispered, laying his head on the bed and staring out at the night sky through the broken window, slowly but surely falling asleep with a claw resting on his little girl.

The magician was sitting up, looking confused."Where'd you go?"
"Slifer had a bad nightmare I think. I went to see if he was okay..."
Chaos pulled her close as she got back into bed. "You've got such a big heart..."
"I try," she muttered, cuddling up to him and closing her eyes. "Oh, you might be needed to help fix a window tomorrow..."
"That's fine," he muttered, yawning. He settled down to sleep again now that the small blonde was back.
About twenty minutes later, they were both asleep.

The rest of the night was fairly silent and uneventful, if a bit cold from the broken window. Not that anyone was complaining of course, since it gave the guardians an excuse to snuggle closer to their respective humans. A few hours after sunrise found Slifer awake. He remained in Kitty's room, curled around the bed protectively as the girl continued to sleep. He heard some shuffling outside in the corridor and assumed Kira and Sera were leaving for work. The large red dragon sighed as he looked at Kitty thoughtfully.
"At least you get to set your own hours." He mumbled, thinking about her work. It made him curious as to whether or not Chaos had mentioned the application to Ashely yet, but the god would not hound him about it. He had all the confidence in the world that the mage would come through for him. With another yawn the dragon relaxed, enjoying the silence of the morning while he waited for his housemates to wake up on their own terms.

Chaos was already awake, running his fingers through the blonde's hair. She was asleep curled up on her side, one arm resting under her head. By the looks of it, she was beginning to wake up. When they got home, he was planning on talking to her about the application form to help Cat out.
Shelly moved in her sleep, onto her back and began to wake up.
"Morning sleepy," Chaos said.
"Shurrup," she murmured.

Slifer's fine-tuned dragon hearing enabled him to pick up mumbled speech from his bedroom, and the dragon chuckled, uncoiling his long body as he pushed his head through Kitty's door, stretching out the hallway before stopping at his own door. He knocked on it softly with a claw while his tail curled protectively around Kitty.
"Good morning you two. How are you today?" He asked as quietly as he could, not wanting to give anyone a headache.
